A while back I mentioned that G has really only been exposed to one type of paint medium - Goopy paint and big brushes. I have slowwwly been trying to introduce him to new ideas, but he is pretty set in his ways.
We have had a few sunny days this last week, and on one of our walks we noticed some pretty yellow flowers growing in the alley behind our house. Gauge picked them, stuffed them in the back of his trike, and we were off. When I asked him if he would like to try and paint them he excitedly grabbed the green and yellow paints, but was starting to get frustrated when I didn't offer him the brush jar. Just as I was about to abandon my idea of painting flowers with flowers, G asked if he could break and dip them. YES!!!
This didn't get the big HOOAH! That I was expecting, but he had fun! I tried to get him interested in painting with pine cones a while ago, but I think the notion was lost. Today though, he pointed out a bunch of things here and there that we could dip (paint) with! I think we're on our way to a new artistic adventure! Horray!!

yay for painting with anything but a brush! so glad that he got into it. thanks for stopping by and visiting my confetti sensory bin post!
This looks so fun! Two of my boys have rough allergies, so I'm not sure if we could get away with this activity or not.
Thanks Andie. Love your blog! Against my better judgment I added my confetti to our sensory table. Hmm..
Lisa, allergies are rough! My 19 month old Jam, and I are in the process of an elimination diet to see what is triggering some pretty severe exema. Poor kiddo.
Thanks for stopping by ladies!
What a great idea - we used our picked Daffodils for a science experiement this week with my toddler - next time he picks some must try painting (BTW have you seen Nurturestore has a feature about painting without brushes with a linky?)
Thank you so much for linking up with Kid's Co-op This week
Cerys, I didn't know that. Thank you! What type of experiment did you do?
